I can't believe I forgot to post this! It made it up onto the Facebook page but it didn't make it too much further...whoopsies!

As always, we'll try to finish by the end of the month.

I'll be using some aides I found online to help with our book discussions.

This is an intense book - lots of issues to keep your mind turning.

Fair warning: it's not a light read.

The forum should be fixed up soon. Although, to be honest, it might have to wait until I'm out of port.

The Goings On

Yesterday's highlights: Picking up a helicopter (we get a few more today)

Watching the longshoreman pick up someone's car with a forklift and move it out of the way

Reading funny labels on boxes - exciter end and non exciter end - if that box was a human I wonder which end would be the exciter end

My ship picked up a helicopter today. Not even kidding.

Rain, rain, go away...

...or not. I personally always love a weather delay. A few more days in port? No problem. It's very gloomy out but as of yet, we haven't had to shut down cargo ops.

I'm back - sorta

Well, the writing bug hasn't bitten me but, the true reason for my absence is that I'm back aboard. Confession: after almost eight years of sailing I still get squirrelly before going back to work. Lots of nervous energy and anxiety. I'm very difficult to be around because I'm majorly on edge and I get sharp.

My back to work M.O is to curl up and read and watch shows. I go into major hibernation mode. Then, 24-48 hours before returning to the ship I go crazy. I whirl around like a dervish to get all my ducks in a row - and often leave with missing ducks.

I didn't start packing for work until 0330 this morning and left the house by 0545 but, at 0515 I realized I hadn't written all my rent checks out in advance and had to dig through my unpacked boxes to look for stationary. Like I said, crazy. (Nate, is this making you break out in a cold sweat?! I actually woke myself up at 0251 nine minutes before my alarm would go off in a cold sweat.)

The good news? I made it. I'm here. It's on.

Just waiting....

For the writing bug to bite me. I had grand plans.  GRAND.

I was going to write a do-whoppy of a post about how I kicked 2012's ass and then, I was going to follow up with all my hopes and dreams for 2013.  Tied with a bow.  Because that my friends, is how you package hopes and dreams.

This clearly did not happen.

I've sat down about ten million times ready to put my 2013 intentions down on paper - I guess I'm just not quite ready.

In the meantime, can I share more Hilo photos?
